I am the Workers' Compensation Manager and I have been employed at The University of North Carolina at Charlotte for nearly 17 years. I handle the Worker's Compensation (WC) Program, which includes WC Compensation and Leave Administration and the WC Return to work Program.
I chose Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) because I am a compassionate person who likes to make a difference in people's lives; I was raised with a my Brother's Keeper mentality. EHS is a helping vocation and it is a perfect marriage between my work experience and education. I was previously employed in the Healthcare Industry (hospital and medical practices) and I saw what accidents could do to people and their families. Once I completed my dual Bachelor’s of Science degrees from the Belk College of Business Administration (Human Resources and Finance, Risk Management & Insurance) I sought a meaningful career in which I could have a positive impact in people's lives; I found my niche. Working in the field of Safety and Worker's Compensation is very rewarding in that one of our goals is to ensure that people are safe on campus and can leave work everyday to go home to their loved ones without incident, alive and uninjured.
