It is the policy of The University of North Carolina at Charlotte to handle all claims for Workers’ Compensation in a timely and equitable manner. An employee who is injured on the job or contracts an occupational disease as defined in the Workers' Compensation Act must notify his or her supervisor immediately and complete the proper forms as soon as possible. University employees suffering from job-related injuries or occupational diseases will be referred to Student Health Services for such treatment and referral as may be deemed medically necessary by the medical provider of Student Health Services. Administration of the State Government Workers' Compensation Program for UNC Charlotte is provided by the Workers' Compensation Administrator in the University Environmental Health and Safety Office. A Third Party Administrator (TPA) contracted by the state, handles the individual workers' compensation cases.
